The Behavioral Phenotyping Core (BPC) consists of a suite of 5 adjacent rooms totaling 1600 sq ft.
Mice and rats tested in the Core facility are housed adjacent to the rooms where the behavioral testing is done.
Equipment is available to quantitate general activity, anxiety, learning, sensorimotor activity, and pain and temperature thresholds.
Appropriate areas and chambers allow multiple tasks to be run simultaneously by multiple investigators.
The facility also includes a small animal surgery room adjacent to the animal holding rooms.
